Prom hair for Millie before and after having 26″ weft sewn in all ready for her prom. We’ve tried a new animated way of displaying this one, which we hope you like.

Split Ends! Making a big difference to the quality of your hair ends.
Is your hair long enough to get caught under coat collars or under shoulder straps ? If so, be careful not to get your hair caught, getting your hair caught in a zipper causes terrible damage.
Does your hair blow in the wind? Wind knots up hair. Knots damage the hair., causing more splits. Eventually the damaged length splits. Put your hair in a ponytail when you are going to be in a lot of wind.
Do you use conditioner when you shampoo? If you want long hair you need to condition it EVERY time you shampoo. If nothing else, it helps detangle the hair. You also might consider using a leave in conditioner.
You can oil the length of your hair daily. Put a small drop in the palm of your hand, rub your hands together and lightly apply the oil to the ends only of the hair.
After you’ve shampooed, brushing wet hair is bad for the hair. Hair is most delicate when wet. Brushing tends to stretch the strands. Stretching the strands puts wear and tear, which causes damage, which causes splits.
When you brush or comb your hair, whether it is wet or dry you need to always begin brushing/combing at the ends. Go up about 3-4 inches, brush/comb from there to the ends, move up some more. Continue the process. Never rip through knots.
To trim splits ends you need a good pair of HAIR scissors. You can buy some at online. They come in ALL price ranges. Whatever you do, use these scissors ONLY for hair. Using scissors for anything else will damage the edge, which will cut the hair poorly, which will cause splits.
Many splits and damage occur above the last inch or so of hair. If your hair is so split that the splits can be seen by other people then an overall trim will benefit you. Otherwise, work on how you are handling your hair and trimming off individually damaged hairs.
When you begin trimming splits, it can seem a daunting task. Many people notice “more splits” when they begin trimming them away. But this is just because you are more aware of them and not that there are more.
Hannah had 18 inch micro loop extensions and wrote a lovely review – Thanks!
It’s been years since I’ve been to a prom ( I mean like FOREVER), but sometimes I do think about what I would wear and how I’d have my prom hair if I were to go again. When I went to my prom I had my haircut the week before into a blunt bob (I’d always had really long hair) and I hated my new short style.
I’d purchased a dress I loved which was very grungy and very me at the time. I had no clue that when I was to arrive at the prom all the other girls would be wearing long, floaty dresses (I looked so out of place) but I always was a little different, and I’d come to accept that.
Now 20 years later I see the photos on Facebook each year and realise proms are so much bigger and more important than back when I was leaving school. Beautiful dresses, eyebrows re shaped and coloured, gel nails, facial, professions make up…. It reminds me of the run up to my Wedding!
I wish there had been more focus on it when I finished school, but now I get the opportunity to help others create wonderful prom hair! Why would you not want to look your absolute best.
If you want to follow the latest trend of having very long hair that is wavy and has braids weaving in and out of the style, or perhaps a long fishtail plait (but you don’t have the length or the volume) then look no further!
At Trending Hair we can add hair extensions to add both length and thickness, we can even supply and fit real human clip in hair, ready for styling on the day of your prom and these can be re-used to. We also do sewn-in braids, micro, nano ring and fusion bonded if you want to keep the style for a few months.
Consultations are free and no obligation. Every girl should look and feel fabulous at her prom x
Last weekend I went to my first ever festival. I had no idea what to expect or what the music was going to be like (I’ve never heard of any of the bands before)
The festival was called Red Rooster, it was a Rhythm and Blues weekend with R&B, Blues, Soul and Country music.
We pitched our tent, poured ourselves a drink and went for a wander. The grounds were beautiful, with dungarees hanging from the trees (which made no sense to me until we reached the crowds of people), then I realised this was kind of the fashion code for the weekend. We found the tent that was selling vintage dungarees and purchased ourselves a pair each.
The music was great, the atmosphere was amazing and everyone we met were so friendly. The food on site was very relevant to the theme of the festival with southern fried chicken, Gumbo, smokehouse and a mac and cheese stall.
I could not help looking at all the amazing hair styles and found myself having hair envy quite a few times. In the end I decided the only thing to do was ask to take photos of the festival hair styles I loved. Some people said no, which I understand as they wanted to stay unique and not be copied, but others were more than happy to have their hair in my blog.
There were also people doing face painting with lots of glitter (so I had a glitter eye all of Saturday), then on Sunday I basically had glitter everywhere!
But it got me thinking about doing hair extensions next year at the festival, Just five brightly coloured micro rings for those wanting to join in with the multi coloured trend of the weekend.
I have spoken to the organiser and it seems a possibility, very exciting…. Watch this space!
Lovely Emma had 20″ nano rings with a mixture of colours to match the natural high lights in her hair
Lovely Clare with full head of 22″ nano rings in colour #10 and #12. Take a look at the lovely review she wrote on our Facebook page 🙂
Yesterday we had an amazing day at Zilla Wedding Fair and street party. It was a beautiful sunny day, with great music and so many other lovely companies offering services for weddings.
I ended up having my makeup done by the wonderful lady called Beccy Brotherton. She is based in Hemel Hempstead but covers the Home Counties and London and is a very talented makeup artist. I have never had my makeup done by anyone before yesterday, so it was a new experience for me which I really enjoyed. I ended up looking and feeling fantastic….. I never knew eyebrows were so important!
We met Tiny little creations, they are a family run business supplying chair covers, table decorations and centre pieces to bring a little sparkle to the big day. They’re even looking forward to their own daughter’s wedding this year!
Magic by Kev was very clever and kept everyone enthralled (have no clue on how he does his magic tricks) and Charlotte West who is a classical singer and has performed at the Royal Albert hall, although we spent most of the time discussing her hair and how naturally straight it was!
Lingerie Showers was another very interesting business, they offer a unique party for birthdays, hen parties, bridal showers, corporate events or just a fabulous girls night in where you get to make knickers. They travel all over the UK and it was very interesting chatting to her about ways to advertise my business.
Waffle Wands were on their first outing with Wanda the waffle cart yesterday! They offer the opportunity to have your guests ‘Waffling’ long after the night ends. I did not try them as I was still recovering from my full English breakfast that morning but my marketing manager had a cookies and cream waffle wand and very much enjoyed it.
We had so much fun at CCS Video‘s stand playing a game of Mr and Mrs, we started off so well getting a match every time, but then the tricky questions started coming, you know, things like…. who was the best driver and of course we stopped getting a match. We’re even featured in their video of the day on Facebook!
White Doves wedding cars had a beautiful car on display, and again it was so good to have a chat with them about marketing a business and getting some really useful tips from them.
All in all, a great wedding fair and we’re looking forward to more in the future
If you are planning a wedding, please come down and see us in Hemel Old Town on Sunday 22nd May.
